Can AI write Arabic on a product shot?
A small lab run for MSHD: eight images, six with Arabic and English copy. Every one rendered correctly — even the shadda.
MSHD turns a product photo into campaign creatives for small online shops. The question that decides whether it's useful in Saudi Arabia: can it put correct Arabic on the image?
On 4 October I ran a small lab test with a fictional perfume and coffee brand called Rayah. Eight images, six of them with Arabic or English copy.
All six rendered correctly — right-to-left, letters joined properly, and the shadda kept in place.
The second experiment was about trust. AI image tools love to "improve" the product itself — a different bottle shape, a new label. So I built a simple drift score that measures how much the product changed. Products that were kept scored 3.4 or below. Altered ones scored 21 or above. No overlap.
It's a prototype. Phase one is the workflow; the AI is still being tested in a lab. But a simple number that says "the product is still your product" is the kind of thing I'd want as a merchant.
